Embroidery

Embroidery Machine Blog

I almost chickened out.

This was a big move for SRM. B I G. Like barf big. You dig?

If you’re friends with me personally, you know that I’ve had the goal of adding embroidery to the game for quite a while, but oofy does it take cahoonas to push purchase on something like this.

Why? I mean other than the fact that they aren’t cheap [ CHA-CHING ] but because it’s scary. Change is scary.

I don’t have any idea how to use it. I have to learn something new. I have to invest time, that I don’t have a lot of, into learning something new and then taking on jobs that will take up more time. But do you know what those jobs will mean? More growth.

Do I think I can? Absolutely. I didn’t really know jack-squat about any of this business to start with, but I wanted it to work. I learned. Fast. And through so much trial and error. I haven’t ever been the person that was like, “Nope, I can’t figure that out.” Or “Nope, I could never do that.” Well, unless it was swimming or water involved, haha! (That’s a huge NOPE!) If I had to add underwater basket weaving to SRM, we would have problem, but embroidery, I think I got it.

What else is scary? Adding embroidery isn’t just adding another service. In the long run, it will add an another employee. Do I love the thought of this? Yes. Supporting my small community by offering employment and services that people don’t have to travel so far for is very important to me. Currently, I have 4 people that keep the wheels on this bus. Is it scary to know that another human is going to be relying on SRM for their paycheck. Yes.  Am I excited for it? Big YES.

What did I learn as soon as I said, “Yes!” to my rep and clicked purchase on my contract? I learned that it was meant to be.

After ordering this dang thing, I had so many new ideas for SRM. SO MANY! There are things I can add to my current western-alternative, emo-cowgirl apparel that only embroidery would work for.

What I’m here to say is: Do it. Jump. Your business can’t grow if you do the same thing over and over. Learn something new. Try something new. See if it works. Adapt. Spinning your wheels on an idea, doesn’t get you anywhere.

Will I love it? Hopefully. Will it benefit SRM? Absolutely. Was it scary? Hell ya. Does it end with embroidery? Nope.

Goal 2 of 2025- DONE…In February. On to the next one.

Deuces babes. ✌️
